Halderman supports 4-H programs and county fairs across the Midwest through sponsorships, scholarships, and community partnerships.

Every summer, fairgrounds across the Midwest come alive with the same energy — livestock in the barns, projects on display, and young people stepping up to show what they’ve built, raised, and learned over the past year. For 4-H members, it’s the culmination of months of hard work. For Halderman, it’s a reminder of why community investment matters.

4-H has deep roots in agricultural communities, and so does Halderman. For many members of our team, 4-H isn’t just a memory — it’s still part of their lives today, through children actively participating, volunteer hours at county fairs, and ongoing support for programs that develop the next generation of agricultural leaders.

“In my 10 years of 4-H, I learned to be service-oriented,” said Pat Karst, Vice President at Halderman. “I use that same mindset every day at work as it aligns with the core values at Halderman.”

That spirit of service runs throughout the company. Halderman sponsors awards and 4-H projects at county fairs across the states we serve, and extends that commitment to the state level through scholarship support in Indiana and beyond. It’s not a box to check — it’s a reflection of how our team was built and what we believe in.

“Halderman participates in county fairs in different ways,” Karst added. “We sponsor awards and 4-H projects, as well as help provide scholarships at both the county and state levels.”

The lessons 4-H teaches — leadership, responsibility, and the value of hard work — are the same ones that make great farm managers, trusted advisors, and engaged community members. That’s not a coincidence. It’s the foundation.

As fair season gets underway, Halderman is proud to support the 4-H programs, county fairs, and communities that have invested so much in our team members, their families, and the agricultural regions we’re honored to serve.
