I recently had the pleasure of working with Larry Smith at Halderman Real Estate to sell my family-owned
farmland. I met with agents from several real estate companies. Larry’s professionalism,
knowledge of the farmland market, especially in the area surrounding our land, his knowledge of
auctions, and years of experience became readily apparent. Choosing Larry and Halderman was an easy
choice, one for which I have no regrets.
There are 5 family members that co-owned the farmland, 3 live out of state. At Larry’s suggestion, he
set up a zoom meeting so all the out-of-state owners could meet Larry and learn about Halderman. He
presented his proposal to auction the land instead of a list, explaining why he thought an auction would
be the best approach. After the meeting, all owners were impressed with Larry, his proposal for
auction, and all readily agreed to sign a Listing Agreement with Halderman.
Larry‘s communication with us during the time leading up to the auction was excellent. He kept us
informed of his marketing efforts, shared feedback from interested parties, explained the details of how
the auction would work, what to expect during the online auction, what would happen after a
successful auction, and the closing timeline and process. He kept us abreast of the various legal
documents and signature requirements. During the entire 5 month period from the initial zoom meeting to
the closing on the farmland, Larry was always available to answers any questions we had and was
prompt in his responses.
