"When my tenant of 40-plus years died suddenly in 2002 almost simultaneously with the retirement of my trust officer, I needed help. The successor trust officer was not equal to the job and while I had had a hand in the farm operations for the better part of 30 years, I was living much farther away now so this was impractical.
